The Meaning of the HOLY QUR’AN

By Abdullah Yusuf Ali

ALLAH, Subhanwataala, revealed His Most HOLY QUR’AN in the Arabic language. Alhamdulillah! Translations of the HOLY QUR’AN are excellent efforts towards introducing non-Arabic speakers to ISLAM, however, no translation can fully depict the shades of meaning and the impact of the Arabic words within one’s heart and soul. In order to gain a more complete understanding of the HOLY QUR’AN, it is imperative that intention be made to learn the Arabic language.

“By the Book that makes things clear¾

We have made it a Qur’an in Arabic,

That ye may be able to understand.

And verily it is in the Mother of the Book,

In our presence, high, full of wisdom.”

HOLY QUR’AN 43:2-4
